Arrakis will be made up of Several maps and these will work differently , when you start you will pick a server and that will be your home , each server belongs to a world and every world has many servers.
Hagga Basin , 40 players.
Your start and returning point. Persistent and big , many biomes , Several dozen players will have access to the server , players from other servers can not come here. You can survive , build and fight here
Social Hubs, 100 players.
Cannot build , fight drive vehicles. but here to interact , use the exchange , NPC's , etc. and other players from other servers when the server is full an instance is spawned.
The Deep desert ,100's of players.
Massive seamless open space , several times larger than Hagga Basin. Here you can meet hundreds of other players from all the different servers in your world . Here large scale guild vs guild can take place drive vehicles , and witness the Coriolis storm and take advantage of its effects.
Overland map
All the maps are linked by the overland map , a map of the entire northern hemisphere of Arrakis , showing players moving around in real time. moving through this map dose use up fuel and water and if you run out you will be dropped into a zone were you can get some more.
By using the overland map Funcom has designed things in a way were they can add new areas more easily allowing for expansion of new areas to explore .
